Among a swirl of grand dresses and bigger jewels, desi girl Sara Ali Khan stood out in her very first red carpet appearance at Cannes. Sara wore a hand-woven ivory lehenga bookshelves by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla. She had her hair up in a bun with a long trailing veil pinned over it. Sara Ali Khan kept her makeup minimal and let her outfit do the talking. She finished the look with dangling earrings. Besides Sara Ali Khan, curator and critic Meenakshi Shedde, who is part of the International Critics’ Week jury, also brought a bit of India to Cannes in a sari on the opening day of the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

On the work side, Sara Ali Khan has several films on the program, including that of Laxman Utekar Zara Hatke with Vicky Kaushal, Ae Watan Mere Watan and Anurag Basu Subway to Dinowith Aditya Roy Kapur.
Sara, daughter of actor Saif Ali Khan and his ex-wife Amrita Singh, made her Bollywood debut in 2018, starred in films such as Kedarnath (his first film), opposite the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Simbawith Ranveer Singh and I love Aaj Kal with Kartik Aaryan. She was also featured in the Coolie No. 1 remake, starring Varun Dhawan and, Arangi Re with Dhanush and Akshay Kumar. Sara was last seen in the thriller gas lamp.
