Phil Mickelson got in on the action defending Claude Harmon III after the golf coach’s comments regarding Golf Channel TV host Brandel Chamblee. Harmon III lambasted Chamblee after the latter made his position known on the rejection of LIV golfers on the US Ryder Cup team.
Mickelson is no stranger to speaking his mind on Twitter, and his endorsement for Harmon III is just the latest from the legendary pro golfer.
He quoted on tweet the link to the Golfweek article on the whole situation.
“CH3 (Claude Harmon lll) is brilliant. His father is too and should already be in the Hall of Fame. Good reading. He’s not holding anything back, just like his dad,” he tweeted.

This whole discussion stems from Brooks Koepka’s PGA Championship win. He became the first player on the LIV Golf Tour to earn a major victory. When he won, Chamblee and Brad Faxon had a lengthy discussion on the Golf Channel about whether Koepka should make the Ryder Cup squad.
Mickelson’s comments have nothing to do with the whole situation, but anyone can read between the lines. Harmon III isn’t usually in the news cycle, so giving it a shout out right now is clearly telling.
Mickelson is one of many high-profile players who left the PGA Tour last year for LIV Golf. Since the start of the tour, there has been a ton of backlash towards Lefty, Koepka and others.
