In the aforementioned message on WASPthe website of , Without faith or law wrote: “As many of you already know, I had a serious setback at the hands of a very unqualified doctor here in Europe about 2 weeks into the tour. I received treatment in a hospital in Berlin and this team of doctors was nothing short of fantastic. But, at the same time, they strongly advised me to stop the tour and go back to LA and start my rehab. But it is hard for them to understand, this is the only 40th birthday i’m going to have, not to mention the fans who have supported us all this time have waited over 3 years and due to the pandemic have endured 3 different series tour reports.
“At first the doctors (in Berlin) told me that without rest and rehabilitation I would definitely get worse. As hard as I pushed through those shows, they were right. Last night’s show at Zurich was cut short by 2 songs, and I apologize for that but the pain got to a point where I couldn’t play and it lasted the whole show. My legs were giving out and it got dangerous. I won’t be able to couldn’t bear to do the remaining 5 shows, so the compromise I found with the doctors was if I remained seated, in a chair to do those last 5 shows, then they would give me clearance to complete the tour and do the remaining 5 shows.”
The 66-year-old guitarist/singer, whose real name is Steven Durencontinued, “I’ve never done this before, but please understand, my intention is to finish this tour, come hell or high tide, and give this fan base incredibly dedicated, who’s been with us since the beginning, the show they’ve all heard about. Plus, we’re going to build the chair in ‘Elvis‘. Hey, he’s been with us the whole time and he’ll finish this tour right next to me because he’s basically part of the band.
“But, as frustrating as it all has been, I can’t wait to enter rehab and then destroy America… Again, on the 2nd and final leg of the ’40th Anniversary World Tour’ !! We’re coming Back… and we’re coming to hurt somebody!!”
